Distribution and status: Throughout India
Host range: Maize, sorghum, pearl millet, peppers, bhendi, and brinjal

Crown drying, followed by leaf yellowing and wilting. When pulled, affected canes easily come off. cause significant root damage. 'C'-shaped grubs with a whitish yellow colour that are near to the base of the clump. In the monsoon season, adults are dark brown and drawn to neem trees.


 

Management

·        cultivate hardy plants like Co 6304, Co 1158, and Co 5510

·        Set up a light trap to draw adults in and kill them.

·        Don't forget to irrigate

·        Rotation of crops in endemic regions

·        Neem, Ailanthus, and Acacia adult beetles should be gathered and destroyed.
